Harvest Flea Market: Featuring a farmers market and flea market experience with vendors offering food, furniture, artwork and more, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the west end of the parking lot at the Finney County Fairgrounds, 920 W. Fall Fest: Featuring more than 90 vendors offering food, handmade items and more, plus activities for the kids and live entertainment beginning at 10 a.m. in downtown Garden City.

Deerfield Flea Market: Featuring antiques, original artwork, handmade crafts, wood crafts, jewelry, clothing, plus a Kid's Corner Carnival Games (tickets are 10 cents apiece; prizes available), 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the City Park. For more information, call (620) 426-7411 or email deer@pld.com.

Donation drive: Families Together, the Garden City Noon Lions Club and Western Kansas Assistive Technology will accept used wheelchairs, patient lifts and other assistive medical equipment at a donation drive from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Families Together office, 1518 Taylor Plaza. Annual Oktoberfest: German food including beef and noodles, bierocks, brats, kraut and weiners, piggies, combo plates and kids plates served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 205 N. Eighth St., plus live music featuring "The Source" from 8 p.m. to midnight. German food available at the Grant Avenue booth from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., during the annual Fall Fest.

Mini & Me art class: A painting class designed for adults and the little ones in their lives to enjoy being creative together is scheduled for 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Garden City Arts, 318 N. Main St.  The cost is $30 per pair and $25 for members. Children must be 5 and older to enroll. Garden City Arts requires payment upon enrollment for all of our classes. Chamber wine tasting: The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its “Seas the Night” wine tasting, featuring 50 wines, complimentary wine glasses, scotch and cigars, flavored rum and a beer garden, from 7 to 10:30 p.m. at the Clarion Inn, 1911 E. Kansas Ave. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased at the Clarion’s front desk, the Corner on Main, the Chamber of Commerce office or on the chamber’s website.



Evening at the Museum: The Finney County Historical Society will examine evidence of Native American tribes on the southwest Kansas plains as part of its Evening at the Museum lecture series. The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the meeting room of the Finney County Historical Museum, 403 S. Fourth St., and the museum will provide drinks and dessert. Guests are welcome to bring dinner.

Music performance: Larry Bilberry and Friends will perform at 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirment Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. Everyone is welcome at no charge.



Chamber workshop: The Garden City Area Chamber of Commerce, Sparq and Black Hills will hold a free workshop on the cost-saving opportunities of clean alternative fuels, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Clarion Inn, 1911 E. Kansas Ave.



Garden City Arts fundraiser: The organization's annual fundraiser, 7 p.m. at the Clarion Inn Ballroom, 1911 E. Kansas Ave., will have a Monster Mash theme. Guests can come dressed in costume and enjoy an evening of art, live music and food and drinks. Tickets are $25 in advance and can be purchased at Garden City Arts. Hours at the Finney County Health Department, 919 Zerr Road, and WIC are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; closed on Friday.
