Commerce Bank Chuckwagons Breakfast: 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Stevens Park. Everyone is invited to the park for pancakes and beef sausage. The chef from Chris Cakes will be flipping pancakes onto your plate (and into the audience). It’s all-you-can-eat for $3. All proceeds will be donated to Women of Purpose. American State Bank Beef Empire Days Parade: 10:30 a.m. on Main Street in Garden City. “BEEF, 50 years strong!” is the theme for this year’s parade, traditionally the largest parade in town and expected to feature 100-plus entries. This year’s parade marshal is Harold J. Tuma, who judged the first Beef Empire Days Live and Carcass Show. Chuckwagons at the Zoo: 11:30 a.m. at Lee Richardson Zoo. An old-fashion barbecue meal will be served for $1 a person. Enjoy the chuckwagon food, family entertainment and food vendors. Serving begins immediately following the parade.

Beef, Beer & Boots — Dancing in the Park: 4 to 11 p.m. in Stevens Park. Downtown Vision and Beef Empire Days have joined together to bring this new event filled with food, beer and music. Heroes Way will have food trucks with signature beef dishes competing for “Beef Empire Days Food Truck of 2018.” There will be a beer garden featuring Tecate and Tecate Light. Kansas Cruisers Car Show: Featuring various classic cars, 6 to 9 p.m. at Samy’s Spirits and Steakhouse, 1911 E. Kansas Ave.

Harvest Flea Market: Featuring a farmers market and flea market experience with vendors offering food, furniture, artwork and more, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the west end of the parking lot at the Finney County Fairgrounds, 920 W. Musical program: High Plains Country Music Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers monthly program at the Memorial Building on Main Street in Lakin. Sign-up will begin at 1 p.m., with the program starting at 2 p.m. All area musicians are welcome to join in. There will be a short break for snacks. Feel free to bring a snack to share. Cattle Crawl: 4:30 p.m. starting at the Clarion Inn & Conference Center. Participants will meet at Samy’s Spirit and Steakhouse, board a bus and tour some of the finest local restaurants to sample some of their finest beef dishes.


Musical variety program: Featuring the music group "The Classic Three-Plus One," 7 p.m. at Garden Valley Retirement Village, 1505 E. Spruce St. Open to the public at no charge.


Blood drive: Noon to 6 p.m. at Stevens County Fairgrounds, Highway 51 and Washington St., Hugoton.

Hours at the Finney County Health Department, 919 Zerr Road, and WIC are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; closed on Friday.
