Police arrested a 28-year-old Garden City man Wednesday on multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

According to Garden City police, Tyler Henderson, 909 N. Fifth St., was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday at the Law Enforcement Center on five counts of sexual exploitation of a child for allegedly downloading images of child pornography.

Henderson has worked as the assistant golf professional at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course since the summer of 2014.

“Tyler has been placed on administrative leave with pay, pending the outcome of the investigation, per the City of Garden City employee policy,” Cole Wasinger, head golf professional at Buffalo Dunes, said Wednesday.

The arrest followed a year-long investigation by Internet Crimes Against Children in Wichita, said Garden City police Capt. Randy Ralston, who did not provide additional details about the investigation.

Finney County Sheriff Kevin Bascue said Henderson is in the Finney County Jail on a $250,000 bond.

Henderson’s first appearance in Finney County District Court is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. today in front of Judge Ricklin Pierce.
