Garden City – Donna Jean Grauberger, 71, died on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. She was the youngest of seven children born to Henry and Opal Rose (McGee) Grauberger on February 12, 1951 at Garden City, KS. Donna was a lifetime Garden City resident. She graduated from Garden City High School in 1969 and St Joseph School of Nursing in Wichita in 1975. She worked as a Registered Nurse in many capacities at St Catherine Hospital for 48 years. Donna was a devoted Christian. Donna’s hobbies were genealogy and loved sharing all the interesting facts about our family, any kind of crafts, sewing, making holiday wreaths, but especially taking care of her yard. Donna was a cat lover and had many over the years.
A stray cat knew where to get a meal and a warm place to sleep. She is survived by her 2 brothers – Thomas Henry Grauberger of Lakin and Kenneth Carl (Penny) Grauberger of Deerfield and 2 sisters – Margaret Anne Grauberger Holman and Susan Lucille (Larry) Grauberger Johnston, both of Garden City – nieces and nephews – David Westerbuhr, Omaha, NE, Mark Grauberger, Omaha, NE, Debi (Ram) Grauberger Leal, Silver Lake, KS, Darin (Shara) Grauberger, Eudora, KS, Stephanie (Randy) Skipper Wildeman, Garden City, KS, Dana Grauberger Lieber, Wichita,KS, Cara (John) Grauberger Ellermann, Manhattan, KS, Julie (Roy) Grauberger Cessna, Garden City, KS as well as many great nephews and nieces with the newest Jasper Steele Arbogast. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Carol Marie Grauberger and Martha Elaine Westerbuhr, sister-in-law Carol Grauberger, nephews Henry Raymond Orbach, Joseph Henry Orbach, John Henry Westebuhr and Aaron Scott Skipper, and a niece Karla Jean Grauberger Timmons.
A memorial service will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 12th at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City, KS with Rev. Doug Williams officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
