At Leoti, the Indians of Wichita County were no match for the visiting Plainsmen as Oakley rushed out to a 32-0 lead in the first quarter then increased the lead to 46-0 at the half before ending a dominating performance over Wichita County in a 62-0 blowout win Friday night for the start of Class 2A district play.

Jantz Budde was the bright spot for the Indians as he completed 16-of-31 passes for 111 yards but was also intercepted twice and had a fumble lost. Colton Northrup led Wichita County in rushing with seven carries for 27 yards. Wichita County is now 1-4 (0-1 district).

Elkhart 35,

Sublette 8

At Elkhart, the Wildcats had a banner night against Sublette as A.J. McKinley passed for two touchdowns to lead Elkhart to a 35-8 win over the Larks on Friday to open district play.

Alex Gomez also had a touchdown pass for Elkhart. Nick Lewis and Bryton Windom also contributed scores for the Wildcats with each having a rushing touchdown, Lewis' run being for 58 yards.

Sublette scored a late touchdown run of 63 yards to avoid the shutout.

Elkhart improves to 4-1 (1-0 district) while Sublette drops to 1-4 (0-1 district).
