Matachines dancers from the Garden City-based group Danza Arcoiris perform a traditional Mexican dance Dec. 14 on the Finney County Historical Museum’s patio. The group, dressed in native-inspired costumes from Mexico, were performing in conjunction with the museum’s open house and Front Door Galery exhibit “The Story of Our Lady of Guadalupe”. The group’s attire and movements adhere closely to the traditions of northern Mexico and the first troupes of Matachines that emerged during the 1600s. BRAD NADING/GARDEN CITY TELEGRAM
