RODNEY CARL “ROD” EISENBISE
EISENBISE, RODNEY CARL “ROD,” 80, formerly of Colby, KS passed away on April 30, 2023, at his home in El Dorado after a battle with cancer. Rodney was born on June 17, 1942, in Stafford, KS; the eldest of seven children; to Eugene and Edith {Nickey} Eisenbise.

Peggy Jo Cooley, 77, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at her home in Healy, KS. She was born on January 5, 1946, in Dighton, KS, to Leonard George & Lillian Mary (Hunsley) Burnett. She was the youngest of five girls and one brother. The funeral service will be held Monday May 22 at 10:30 AM at the Healy Methodist Church with Reverend Bud Tuxhorn officiating. The service will be on the church’s facebook page. Burial will be in Healy Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday at Boomhower Funeral Home in Dighton. Memorials are suggested to Healy EMS or Healy Good Samaritan Fund in care of Boomhower Funeral

GCHS girls’ soccer rallies for regional championship
For the second consecutive season, the Garden City High School girls’ soccer team finds itself in the Class 6A state quarterfinals against the same opponent – the Manhattan Indians. There is one big difference in 2023 as opposed to 2022 and that is the fact that the Buffs (13-2-1) are the top-seeded team in the West bracket and will host the Indians (11-5-2) on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

WALLS April 7, 1958 May 13, 2023 Elkhart, KS-Danny “Dan” Darnell Walls, of Elkhart, Kansas, passed away on May 13, 2023, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Dan was the son of Oliver Perry and Mable Ruth (Bickford) Walls and was born on April 7, 1958, in Lamar, Colorado, where he graduated from high school.
