GENEVA ELIZABETH (WEBBER) CARPENTER

Geneva Elizabeth (Webber) Carpenter, age 96, entered into rest at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS on April 11, 2023. Geneva was born October 23, 1926, Hugoton, KS to James Edwin and Reba Martha (Neathery) Webber. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at 10:30 A.M. at United Methodist Church, in Hugoton, with Pastor Wesly Young presiding. Burial to follow at Hugoton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M. at Robson Funeral Home, 314 S Van Buren St, Hugoton. The family will receive family and friends from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Funeral Home.

MYRA L. STRICKERT

Our dear mother and grandmother, Myra L. Strickert, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023, at age 100 at Tallgrass Creek Senior Living Community in Overland Park, KS. She was born December 21, 1922, in Gove, KS as the oldest daughter of William F. and Iva Mae Litton Roemer, both deceased. On August 1, 1941, she married the love of her life, Philip E. Strickert in Ulysses, KS. They started their married life of 64 years in Friend, KS and moved to Garden City, KS in 1959. She obtained her cosmetology license and owned her own beauty shop for many years before retiring. She and Phil were both very active members of The Eagles Lodge where they spent Saturday nights dancing and enjoying time with their many friends. After her husband passed in 2006, she moved to Tallgrass Creek where she enjoyed quilting, working in the library, and spending time with friends and family. Myra will be remembered for her love and devotion to family, her apple pies, and her independent spirit. Other survivors include: 2 sons - Delbert Strickert of Eufaula, OK and William Strickert of Yuma, CO, 3 daughters Phyllis Sage of Kennewick, WA, Linda Orrick of Reeds Spring, MO and Annette Armstrong of Centennial, CO, 11 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, Dana Marie Orrick, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. Private graveside services will be held later this spring at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas with Steve Payne presiding. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be written to the Alzheimers Association in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home, PO Box 553, Scott City, Kansas, 67871. There will be no calling times.

Garden City- Rick Jones, 60, died on Friday, April 7, 2023 at St Catherine Hospital in Garden City. He was born on November 28, 1962 in Garden City the son of Jim & Janet (Rice) Jones. He married Jeanna Snodgrass on October 10, 1985 in Garden City. Funeral Service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City with Pastor John Carney officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Home.
