From week one to week two of the 2021-2022 wrestling season, Garden City High School coach Carlos Prieto had wanted to see gradual improvement that one would come to expect this early in the campaign.
After leading by double digits early, the Buffs’ girls fell short in Saturday’s 49-47 loss to their Finney County rivals, the Holcomb Longhorns to conclude the Roundball Classic. The Buffs, down by as many as seven in the fourth quarter, fought back with clutch 3-pointers and turnovers to pull within reach in the final minute.
