Winter flu bug catches up to Buffalo wrestlers LAMAR, COLO. - The list of non-wrestlers is almost as long as the healthy wrestlers for the Garden City High School girls’ team after a shorthanded roster fought valiantly to place third among nine teams on Saturday at the Lamar, Colo.
Boys finish second, girls fifth at Bishop Carroll WICHITA - With a veteran cast of bowlers on the boys’ side, the Garden City High School team opened its 2022 season on Saturday with a runner-up finish at the prestigious Wichita-Bishop Carroll Baker Tournament. Meanwhile, the girls squad, without their top returning bowler in senior Holly Bridges (competing in Las Vegas for a Team USA position), placed fifth among the 30 competing teams and did so with three freshmen in the lineup.
No matter the circumstance, it is anybody’s guess as to how the outcome will be determined when the Garden City Buffaloes and Dodge City Red Demons clash in any sport. Be it football for the Hatchet, wrestling for the Bell, or the home-and-home Western Athletic Conference basketball do battle, it is always a test of wills.
