Dear Amy: My fiance and I are planning our wedding. As the bride, I’m planning on making certain requests of my guests, to make sure that my special day is as perfect as possible. For example, I’m asking that my guests wear exclusively yellow at the ceremony.

They excitedly called out their names, smiled, laughed and were genuinely giddy as they looked at the old family movies come to life. My wife, Kelly, bought a digitilizer that takes old 8 mm film and Super 8 film and digitalizes them.

Dear Readers: Often, readers reply to dilemmas posed in my column in ways that are helpful, useful, and inspiring. Today’s column is devoted to some of these replies. As always, I’m grateful for readers who share their own stories.

Dear Amy: I have a marriage question. I have taken a sort of “vow of silence” around my husband of 40 years.

I have the family I never knew I could have. I had a great upbringing, great parents, but I was the accident who came along many, many years after my siblings, so I missed out on the shenanigans and memories you get to have growing up with your brothers and sisters.

Dear Amy: I am conflicted about giftgiving this holiday season. I have traditionally bought gifts for my family (five adults and five children), my close friends and their children (they all buy me nice gifts too!).

Dear Amy: I am moving in with my boyfriend in a few months. He is everything I’ve ever wanted in a partner, and I’m excited to move into the small one-bedroom condo, which he owns.

Twitter may or may not still exist by the time you read this. It’s Thursday evening, I’m camped out in front of the television with my laptop, watching football, and checking in on Twitter as many people mock it, say goodbye to it and their “followers” and report that most Twitter employees were locked out of the building without cause.
