FUTURE, PRESENT and PAST: Museum’s historic cemetery walking tours return in October
The Historic Walking Tours of Valley View Cemetery are back. Some people visit a cemetery only around Memorial Day, and may not realize that the graves of their loved ones are surrounded by the burial places of others whose lives – in earlier times – each made an impact on our community’s history. That’s one reason the Finney County Historical Society has been hosting the Historic Walking Tours of Valley View Cemetery each year since 2014, with the exception of 2023 when uncontrollable circumstances prevented us.

MURPHY’S LAW: No amount of money is worth CTE symptoms
Money seems to muddy a lot of waters.Thursday night I got home, flipped on the TV to try and catch the end of the Miami Dolphins-Buffalo Bills football game.I heard Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was out of the game and in concussion protocol.Concussions happen all the time in football — more than we’ll ever know — but Tagovailoa has had serious concussion issues in his career. This is the third concussion he has suffered that is known.I don’t know how many he had in high school or college or how many he’s had in the NFL that aren’t reported.I know it’s easy for me to sit back and say it’s probably time to quit before the brain injuries become so serious he cannot recover, however, it’s time.First of all, he may have already gone past the point of no return with brain injuries, and secondly, no matter how much money he would forfeit for quitting, that money won’t do him any good if he is unable to function some day.Under his four-year, $212.4 million contract, Tagovailoa has $132 million fully guaranteed.
