OPINION: Project 2025 would pillage our rights and institutions. Kansans want to fight back

Speaker after speaker at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August hauled out an oversized prop copy of Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation’s guide to creating a more perfect conservative presidential administration.Former president Donald Trump and his presidential campaign have disavowed the plan, saying it doesn’t represent his views.

MURPHY’S LAW: Joy of sports give a chance to escape daily life

Sometimes I think the joy of sports gets overlooked.I was in a couple of gyms watching some really good high school volleyball, and then got to see a good football game this week.I looked around at the crowds of parents, students, fans, family, and school staff, and everyone was having a good time.Obviously, the fans of the winning team had a little better time, but no one walked out of those gyms or stadiums sorry they went.The escape that sports gives us seems particularly important these days.And that’s what sports gives us, a chance to escape what’s going on around us that carries much more weight.No one talks about all the seriousness in their daily lives when they are at these games watching these young people perform.I remember games days.
