MURPHY’S LAW: Recalling memories – both good and bad

I took a little trip down memory lane recently. My wife sent a text to our family that our former house was for sale, and the photos made me think back to when that was our home.We lived in the house about 10 years, and it’s changed, but yet remains the same.Of course, the rooms are decorated differently, and there has been some remodeling, but it’s still the house we called a home for about a decade. My kids were in elementary school when we moved in, and by the time we left they were in college.

MURPHY’S LAW: Photographs bring back memories of Halloweens past

When your kids get older you forget how quickly they grew up.My wife was sharing some old Halloween photos at the request of our daughter-in-law, Anna, and seeing Claire and Alek dressed up when they were just kids was a nice trip back in time.My grandkids are now in that growing-up-so-fast stage, when they go from birth to walking and talking in a minute.Lyla is three, and Linus 1 1/2 years old, and looking back at photos of them it seems time has accelerated. It seems one day they were babies, and now they are walking all over the place, learning new things every day, and growing into these amazing little people. When your kids become adults and have their own families, it’s less about how fast they grew up, and more about their age.My kids and their spouses are in their 30s, which may seem old to them, like turning 30 seemed old to me.We all look at our lives and wonder how we got here so fast.Sixty-two years went by in a hurry.
