Shielda Joy Jeffery, 88, passed away at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City on June 11, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born in Abilene, Kansas on October 29, 1933 and remained a Kansas native, calling Scott City home for the last 64 years.

Orvileta Mae West, 89, of Garden City, KS, passed away on 10 June 2022 at The Ranch House senior living facility in Garden City. Orvileta was born 4 November 1932 in Boise City, OK, to Orville Roscoe Gracey and Ferne Crane Gracey. Shortly after her birth, the family moved near Hugoton, KS. Her loving, common sense parents raised Orvileta, her older sister Betty Jean Heger, and her younger brother Alvin Dean Gracey on the farm. After graduation from Hugoton High School, she attended Fort Hays State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Secretarial Science in 1955.

William Milton Stephens, Jr. passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas at the age of 88. He was born June 4, 1933 at his 1907 historic home to Eva McCue and William Milton Stephens, Sr.

John Buel Adams, Jr. “Jack”, 96, of Lawrence, Kansas, formerly of Deerfield, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at the Olathe Medical Center. He had moved to Lawrence in 2014 from Deerfield to be close to family.
