Joseph Ernest D. Richard, age 82, of Keyes, Oklahoma, died Sunday, February 5, 2023.

Otto Harp, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2023, at Progress West Hospital in O’Fallon, Missouri with family by his side. He was born on August 4, 1927, in Yardell, Arkansas, the son of Ira Harp and Bertie (Hill) Harp.

Michael A. Todd, age 70, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at his home in Scott City, Kansas.

Jim Houtz, 84, of Elkhart, Kansas, died January 31, 2023. .

Judith Elaine Haflich, 79, died peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. She was born September 27, 1943 in Garden City to Warren and Faye Swartley (Weast).

GARDEN CITY Sarah Rose Smith, 95, died Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Garden City, Kansas. She was born September 7, 1927 at Montezuma, the daughter of George and Ella (Koehn) Smith. She worked a number of jobs cleaning, babysitting, and cooking but, her favorite job was taking care of her family. On October 19, 1953 she married Clarence “Curt” Smith. He preceded her in death on August 4, 2010. Survivors include: 7 children, David C. Smith, Jearld L. Smith, Carolyn E. Smith, Karla R. Smith, all of Garden City, Carl D. “Rocky” Smith, Palm Coast, Florida, Rose A. Gassett, Amarillo, Texas, and Shirley M. Blankenship, Sublette, Kansas; one brother, Johnny C. Smith, Ulysses, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren; and 8 Great Great- Grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, parents-in-law, a granddaughter, a grandson, 6 sisters, 1 brother, 6 brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, and 2 infant great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Cimarron, with Ministers Denton Koehn and Karlin Koehn officiating. Burial will follow in the Cimarron Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the church. Mellany Sue “Sue” Pelto, 73, died Tuesday January 24, 2023 at her home in Garden City, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday February 1, 2023 at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.
