Marian A. McNaught

Marian A. McNaught, 92, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014, at St. Catherine Hospital.

She was born on April 30, 1922, to Leslie and Ethel Lang Morphett in LaGrange, Ill.

On May 18, 1946, she married Carl E. McNaught in LaGrange. He died on Dec. 15, 2001.

Mrs. McNaught graduated from the junior college in LaGrange.

She worked for Quaker Oats Co., where one of her main duties was to drive Aunt Jemima around the Chicago area. The company later transferred her to San Francisco, where she worked in human resources and later hired Carl McNaught as a salesman.

After their marriage, the couple moved to Garden City, where she was a homemaker.

Her life was organizing family events, meals and activities. She was a member of the same bridge club for more than 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one grandson, Darin Golay.

Survivors include one son, Richard and Debbie McNaught of Garden City; two daughters, Marsha and Kenny Golay of Garden City and Melinda and Bob Hitz of Garden City; one sister, Aileen Schneller of Park Ridge, Ill.; six grandchildren, Katharine Geier, David McNaught, Kendall Golay, Abby McNaught, Kristen Hitz and Jack Hitz; two great-grandchildren, Joseph Richard Geier and Timothy Darin Golay; and caretaker, Norma Martinez.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Presbyterian Church in Garden City.

Burial will take place at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.

Calling hours are noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City.
