John Bunnell won high in the four tables of senior center pinochle played Wednesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St. Maybelle Bowen took second place. Third went to Ruth Dunlap.
The Garden City Duplicate Bridge Club had a small Sunday game Nov. 30 playing a 25-board Howell movement. Polite competition produced 14 games, one-third in no-trump, and two of three slams succeeded. Therin and Diane Woolwine took first place with a 75 percent game as Jon Kempton and Irene Bryant held second, one point back.
On Dec. 1, the club played seven pairs in a 28-board movement and produced 29 games, but two slams failed. May Craig and Kempton placed first with a 66 percent game. Dorothy Bartlett and Virginia Enslow were second while Wen Wurst and Jon Craig held third.
Twenty-six games were produced amid holiday snacks on Dec. 8, but no slams were found. Wurst and Craig moved into first place with Faye Anderson and Helen Lee a single point behind in second. Woolwine and Bryant held third place by one-half point over Craig and Kempton.
Regular games begin at 7 p.m. Monday and 1:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Senior Center of Finney County, 907 N. 10th St., plus sanctioned games begin at 2 p.m. on the second, third and fourth Sundays, with all bridge players welcome. For partners, call Kempton at 276-2876.
