The 2015 Finney County Historical Society calendars are now on sale at the Finney County Museum, 403 S. Fourth St., with images dating back as far as the 1920s.
The 11x17-inch calendars include pictures of old-time gas stations and garages in and around Garden City.
The cost is $12 each, with proceeds supporting the museum and historical society. Store hours are 1 to 5 p.m. seven days weekly, except Dec. 24 to 26 and Dec. 31 to Jan. 1, 2015.
The nonprofit museum store also is offering the nostalgic 1953 Garden City DVD “This is Our Town,” and a variety of items created by local artists and artisans. The museum also is stocking the recently published Hometown Memories books “Sod Houses and the Dirty Thirties” and “Dust Storm Days and Two-Holers.” The books include stories of past times in western Kansas, with recollections by Sue Knight, Charles Stones and others.
The museum's current Front Door Gallery exhibit, “Garden City Christmas Past,” incorporates photographs and artifacts from the holiday season, dating back as far as 1939.
