Holcomb takes down Hugoton in second half

Sometimes it takes awhile to get going.That was the case for the Holcomb High School football team Friday night, in front of the home crowd, in a 32-6 victory against Hugoton.The Eagles got on the scoreboard first, moving the ball down the field and scoring on its opening drive of the game.

GCHS girls’ tennis competes at 6A state

PRAIRIE VILLAGE - The Class 6A state tournament is always a reality check for the Garden City High School tennis teams – girls or boys – and Friday’s first day at Prairie Village’s Harmon Tennis Complex was no exception.The Buffs did manage to secure three wins, all by their respective doubles teams, and finished in 16th place in the team standings out of the 23 teams entered.Still, the goal has always been to advance to Saturday’s final day with an opportunity to claim a medal among the top 12 finishers.
