TOPEKA — Kansas Senators advanced a constitutional amendment Wednesday that would change how state supreme court justices are selected.
The Garden City Public Schools Foundation Grant Squad visited schools on Thursday, March 6, to award $250 mini grants to help teachers enhance instruction in their classrooms. The awards were presented to teachers in surprise celebrations in their classrooms.
Remember to set clocks ahead one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday for Daylight Saving.
There will be a number of music concerts scheduled during the week at Garden City Public Schools USD 457 schools. The free concerts are open to the public.
You can get your kicks on Route 66 as well as learn more about the state’s 12 byways, including the Route 66 Historical Byway, in the new 2025-26 Kansas Official State Transportation Map. Points of interest located near several highways are also featured.
As the days get warmer and the weather becomes less grey, we all hope spring is near. Although the official start of spring is not until the spring equinox, on the 20th of March, animals, plants, and people are starting to prepare for the warm breath of spring. Many students and teachers alike look forward to a chance to spend time outside without classes, and it just so happens that right around spring’s official start is the week of spring break.
They say getting there is half the fun. That wasn’t the case for one man 175 years ago. In fact, his trip was anything but pleasant. However, the sweet reward he received at the end of his incredible journey more than made up for the hardship.
