Photographic images ranging from snow-covered wooded landscapes to
urban scenes will be on display beginning Saturday as Garden City Arts
opens its 11th Annual Southwest Kansas Juried Photography Competition
and Exhibition at the gallery, 318 N. Main St., with a reception from 3
to 5 p.m.
Residents from southwest and central Kansas entered artwork to be
considered for prizes. Forty-four adults and 15 students are
represented. Jerry A. Feuerborn of Salina traveled to Garden City on
Sept. 16 to make the winning selections. Of the prizes awarded in both
the adult and student divisions will be a Best of Show, first place in
each of the categories and People's Choice. Winners in the adult
division receive monetary gifts, and students will receive gift
certificates.
The exhibit will show from Saturday to Oct. 26, and most images are
available for purchase. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Tuesdays through Fridays and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
