Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback announced Tuesday recent appointments to boards and commissions, including two from Garden City.
Brian Weber has been appointed to a four-year term on the Kansas Citizens Utility Ratepayers Board (CURB). The mission of the five-member board is to protect the interests of residential and small commercial utility ratepayers in the state.
Weber earned a bachelor's degree from Newman University and a master's degree from Fort Hays State University. He currently is co-owner and operator of Weber Refrigeration and Heating, Inc.
Christine Burgardt has been appointed to a three-year term on the Kansas State Board of Cosmetology.
The board's mission is to protect the health and safety of the consuming public by licensing qualified individuals and enforcing standards of practice.
Burgardt earned a degree from Garden City Community College, and owns Signatures Salon in Garden City.
