At the Castle Rock Classic in Quinter, the Hoxie Lady Indians defeated the Dighton Lady Hornets, 60-45, in the championship game on Saturday.

The Lady Indians led by five at the end of the first period and extended that lead to 11 points by halftime.

The Lady Indians’ Carly Heim led the game in scoring with 23 points. Her teammates Lexi Schamberger and Brynn Niblock were in double-digit points as well with 12 each.

Kiara Budd led the Lady Hornets in scoring with 12 points while teammate Jordan Speer added another 11 and three others had six points.

At the Castle Rock Classic in Quinter, the Dighton Hornets defeated the Cheylin Cougars, 45-35, on Saturday to finish the tournament in fifth place.

The Hornets took a commanding lead at the end of the first period that they never relinquished as they scored 23 points to the Cougars’ 4.

Dylan Foos led the Hornets in scoring with 10 points. The Cougars’ Devon Janicke led the game in scoring with 11 points.
