Sally Dechant of Garden City and Cole Thompson of Beloit were married Aug. 17, 2013, at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan. Father Joseph Popelka officiated the 2 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Robert Dechant of Garden City. She is the granddaughter of Elouise Potter of Madison, Ala.

The groom's parents are Roxanne and Herb Unrein of Lawrence; and Steve and Peggy Thompson of Beloit. He is the grandson of Bernice Winkel of Glen Elder.

Matron of honor was Abby Amick of Alma. Maid of honor was Sarah Dechant of Overland Park. Bridesmaids were Yen Le of Lawrence; and Sasha Morales of Garden City.

Best men were Luke Thompson of Albuquerque, N.M.; and Matthew Thompson of Richmond, Va. Groomsmen were Dalton Schoen and Matt Pestinger, both of Manhattan.

Ringbearer was Miles Thompson of Albuquerque.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at Prairiewood Retreat and Preserve in Manhattan.

The bride graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in dietetics. She is a nutritionist at Child, Youth & School Services.

The groom received bachelor and master degrees in horticulture from Kansas State University and is pursuing a doctorate in horticulture from KSU. He works as a research assistant for KSU.

The newlyweds are at home in Manhattan.
