Garden City High School senior quarterback Greyson Tempel, who last week was honored as The Telegram's 2013 Player of the Year, was named Tuesday to the Kansas Football Coaches Association Top 11 team.

The 11-member elite team, comprised of all seniors who were nominated by KFBCA member coaches, includes players from all classifications.

In addition to Greyson Tempel's selection to the Top 11, he was named to the Class 6A all-state team, along with brother Dustin Tempel, who was named one of three receivers to the 6A squad.

Greyson Tempel established numerous GCHS rushing, passing and total offense records this past season in leading the Buffaloes to the Class 6A state semifinals and an 8-4 season record. He leaves as the most decorated offensive player in school history. Dustin Tempel also established himself as one of the top all-time wideouts for the Buffs after catching more than 50 passes his senior season for more than 900 yards.

Two Lakin Broncs also were recognized by the Class 3A coaches as Gage McAtee, a member of The Telegram's All-Area Top 11, and Robert Aparicio were named to the squad. Aparicio was chosen as a defensive back while McAtee was selected as a running back.
