DODGE CITY Congressman Tim Huelskamp announced today that entries are now being accepted for the 2014 Congressional Arts Competition. All high school students in the First Congressional District are encouraged to participate in this competition. The winning artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

The Congressional Arts competition is divided into seven categories: paintings, drawings, collage, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art and photography. All submissions must be received during business hours from 1 to 5 p.m. between April 19 and April 23, or by appointment to Ron Michael at 785-227-2220. The Show will open on April 24.

The 2014 competition will be hosted by The Birger Sandzen Memorial Gallery, 401 N. First St., Lindsborg.

Awards will be given in each category. Congressman Huelskamp will present the awards at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. April 26 at the Birger Sandzen Gallery.
