At Phillipsburg, the Broncs hung with the home Panthers throughout most of the game in the opening round of the Class 3A playoff matchup. The two teams were tied at 14 going into the half but Lakin proved no match at the end as its playoff run ended early with a 37-28 loss on the road.
Lakin drew first blood in the first quarter as Chandon Moreno scored two straight rushing touchdowns (three and 17 yards) to go up 14-0 with just over three minutes left in the first quarter.

Lakin answered early in the fourth quarter as Blake Geubelle ran for a 34-yard touchdown to cut the lead to 28-21. But the Panthers answered back with another Schneider touchdown run, this time from 30 yards out to go up by 34-21.
Lakin quickly answered back with another Geubelle rushing touchdown from one yard out to get within six, but Phillipsburg iced the game with four minutes left on a 45-yard field goal from Justin Judamen.
