Bill Craig, 81, of Meade, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born July 31, 1933, in Lenora, to Olen Dale and Jessie Anglan Craig.
Mr. Craig began his career of more than 50 years in the oilfield as a driller and tool pusher, having worked for Abercrombie Drilling, Sterling Drilling and H2 Drilling. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
In 1958, he married Nada Holbrook in Phillipsburg. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Kipp Garrison of Hays, Daniel Wiley of Cozad, Neb., Clinton Wiley and Kevin Craig, both of Scott City, Bill Craig Jr. of Garden City, Steven Craig of Meade, and Clifton Craig of Hill City; three brothers, Danny Craig, Richie Craig and Lynn Craig; three sisters, Marlene Holloway, Dannieta “Kay” Wendell and Tammy Prater; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Meade. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Meade.
Visitation hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Condolences may be given at www.fidlerormebachmanmortuary.com. Memorials are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project or the charity of the donor’s choice, both in care of the funeral home.
