Truck filled with toys to deliver to children

Garden City Community College, along with the Salvation Army, Kansas Farm Bureau and Burtis Motors are asking people to help fill a Ford with toys for the holidays.

On Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a Ford pickup from Burtis Motors will be parked in the John Collins Vocational parking lot at GCCC.

The hope is to completely fill the truck with new, unwrapped toys for local children.

"Any toy is better than nothing," said Cindy Venjohn, agriculture instructor at GCCC.

All of the toys will be delivered to the Salvation Army to provide a little Christmas cheer for area kids in need.
