Eight different players scored for Dighton on Friday night, leading to a 51-13 rout of Rawlings County in the semifinals of the Castle Rock Classic in Quinter to advance to today’s finals.

Underclassmen Dylan Foos and Jordan Horn led the Hornets offensively with nine points each. Rawlins County was led by freshman Jerry Belschlager, who had six points in the losing effort.

Dighton is slated to play Cheylin in the tournament championship game, while Rawlins County will face-off against Golden Plains in the consolation bracket.

Dighton 55, Ellis 50

In a semifinal round game of the Castle Rock Classic in Quinter, Dighton sophomore Sara Cramer’s 21 points propelled the Lady Hornets over the Railroaders, 55-50.

Fellow sophomore Jordan Speer had 15 points in the victory, while Ellis had two players in double digits in the loss.

With the win, Dighton advances to the final round, where the Hornets will take on the Hoxie Indians. Ellis will play Wheatland-Grinnell.

Deerfield came up short against Fowler.The Lady Trojans’ Sheridan Rodriguez had a game high of 14 points while Mercedes Showers and Alyssa Lamar had four points each.

Lamar hit one 3-pointer, and Alexa Tarin had two points.
