ULYSSES — Karlton Douglas Waechter, 21, of Garden City, died Sunday, April 19, 2015, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City.
He was born June 30, 1993, in Liberal, to Troy Waechter and Karla Hogie Shore. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 2012.
A former resident of Ulysses, Mr. Waechter was the owner of Bear Creek Cattle. He traveled to Ft. Worth and Dallas, Texas, Denver and Indianapolis to show and fit cattle. He also worked for Vivint, installing security systems.
Survivors include his parents, Troy and Ronda Waechter of Ulysses, and Karla and Steven J. Shore of Johnson City; his siblings, Heather Mitchell of Manter, Shalie Russett, Reilly Shore and Steven K. Shore, all of Ulysses, Brooklynn Wood and Landon Wood, both of Maize, Amber Tafoya of Olathe, Jace Nuckles of Arvada, Colo., Andi Christianson of Manhattan, Stephanie McElroy of Colorado Springs, Colo., Reagan Shore of Baton Rouge, La., and Haley Shore of Sharon Springs; and his grandparents, Letcher Waechter, Diane and Thurman Holmes, and Jay and Wanda Bloesser, all of Ulysses. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Carl Waechter and Raymond Hogie.
Funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Friday at Country View Baptist Church in Ulysses. Burial will follow at Lakin Cemetery.
Visitation hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Karlton Waechter 4-H Fund, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 405 W. Grant Ave., Ulysses, KS 67880.
