It will be defending champion Cimarron’s Lady Bluejays and the Meade Lady Buffaloes who will battle at 6:30 p.m. today for the 2014 Bluejay Invitational title.

Sublette’s Larks and South Gray’s Rebels advanced to the boys championship game at 8:15 p.m. today with Friday night semifinal triumphs.

The host Lady Bluejays led from start to finish, opening up an 18-5 first-quarter lead over the Sublette Lady Larks en route to a 64-28 victory. Meade’s girls, meanwhile, rolled over South Gray 59-19 in the other semifinal.

On the boys side, Sublette used a 22-12 first-quarter outburst as it produced a 56-41 victory over host Cimarron in one semifinal while South Gray rallied in the second half, coming from down 33-30 at halftime to an eventual 76-66 triumph over Meade.

Morgan Ediger’s 18 points were high for Cimarron’s girls (3-0) while Marlee Rath and Kari Blattner added 13 points each. Alexis Ornelas scored 11 points to pace Sublette (2-1).

The Lady Buffs of Meade had four players in double-figure scoring as Bailey Olvera and Jaylin Stapleton led the way with 11 points each, with Natalie Thompson and Tarah Wiens right behind with 10 points apiece.
