Genare Woofter recently graduated with a straight 4.0 grade-point average at Cimarron High School, is partial to golf and doesn't wait until the last minute for anything. With all that, he has this thought.
"I would like to be remembered as an easygoing guy who was easy to get along with," he wrote in a questionnaire provided to The Telegram.
He's a perpetual fixture on the honor roll and an all-sport athlete — football, basketball, golf and weight lifting. He was academic All Hi-Plains League in basketball.
He says his favorite class in high school was weight lifting, and his least favorite was mathematics.
Although he made straight "A's" and remained studious and at the top of his class, he notes that he is not that fond of homework.
It wouldn't be unusual to find Woofter at the golf course playing a round
"Playing golf," Woofter wrote was his favorite hobby. "It is relaxing."
His most memorable moments in school center on spending time with his friends and classmates.
"Hanging out with friends on the weekend," he said is what he will remember most. "It is always fun."
His advice to those just entering high school and those graduating is comparable.
"Don't wait until the last minute to do your work," he told the freshmen.
And his words of wisdom for his classmates?
"Keep up the good work," he advised those leaving high school.
From here, he plans to go to college and major in optometry.
