Wildcats win, Stanton Co. falls

The Moscow Wildcats withstood a 35-point performance by Syracuse's Kyle Dupree and escaped with a 63-59 win over the Bulldogs on Thursday afternoon in the opening round of the Rolla Showcase.

Easton Bohl and Mathew Pearson led Moscow with 17 points each as both players also had three 3-point goals in the game.

Rigo Bustillos also had two 3-point goals and 13 total points for Moscow as Alexis Manriquez was also in double figures for the Wildcats with 10 points.

Syracuse's Dupree had five 3-pointers. Jacob Barnes also had 10 points for Syracuse.

The Beaver Dusters edged out Stanton County for a 58-49 win over the Trojans on Thursday in a Rolla Showcase opening round game.

The Beaver's Garrett Weber led all players in the game with 22 points. Kaleb McDonald and Kalen Gabel were also in double figures for Beaver, with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

Jacob Cron led Stanton County with 15 points. Quinn Kendrick was also in double figures for the Trojans with 10 points.

South Baca, Colo. 44

The South Baca Patriots gave the Rolla Pirates a good fight before Rolla escaped with a 46-44 win on Thursday to open up their own tournament.

Nick Link led Rolla with 12 points as Obie Telford was also in double figures for the Pirates with 10 points.

Matthew Crane had a stellar night for South Baca as he scored 32 points.

Greeley County 53, Elkhart 37

The Greeley County Jackrabbits used consistent scoring throughout the contest to put away Elkhart 53-37 on Thursday in the Rolla Showcase.

AJ Govert led Greeley County with 15 points. Martin Veleta and Miguel Trejo also had double figures for the Jackrabbits with 11 points each.

Braden Harbour led Elkhart with nine points.

Greeley County moves on to face Rolla today at 6:30 p.m.

The Hooker Bulldogs edged out the Ulysses Tigers 51-46 on Thursday in a Hugoton Blue Red Classic first round game.

Joe Bean led Hooker with 17 points. Gabe Morales and Chad Kennedy also had double figures for Hooker with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Clarke Stringham and Kyler Barlow led Ulysses in double figures with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Lakin outscored Guymon 35-26 in the second half and that was just enough for a comeback win against the Tigers in a 60-56 Broncs' victory.

Dalton Shalberg and Gage McAtee led Lakin with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Guymon's Arnoldo Moncada had a big night with 26 points.

Lakin moves on to face SW Heights today at 8:15 p.m.

The SW Heights Mustangs jumped out to a 40-24 halftime lead and held off Hugoton in the second half for 58-42 win over the host Eagles on Thursday.

Clayton Chase led SW Heights with 14 points. Ben Johnsrud was also in double figures for the Mustangs with 11 points.

Logan Frederick led Hugoton with 15 points as Hugoton plays Guymon, Okla. at 8:15 p.m. today in the losers bracket.

SW Heights advanced to play Lakin today at 8:15 p.m.
