Garden City Community College women's basketball all-time leading scorer Tamara Jones will sign to play NCAA Division-I hoops at the University of Southern Mississippi.

Jones will sign her letter of intent Tuesday, alongside teammate Breanna Gross, who will sign with D-II Slippery Rock (Pa.) University.

Jones was an NJCAA and WBCA All-American after a sophomore season where she averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds for the 29-4 Lady Broncbusters. She was also first-team all-region and all-conference, and was the Jayhawk West MVP.

The Prosser, Wash., native announced her decision on Twitter on Thursday.

Jones joins former Lady Busters head coach Alaura Sharp, who announced two weeks ago she was leaving to take an assistant coaching position at Southern Miss.

Other schools showing interest in the 6-foot post included Wichita State, Idaho and Boise State.
