Wichita County 14

At Leoti, the visiting Buffaloes had little trouble against Wichita County as Meade took a 49-6 halftime lead and coasted to a 61-14 win over the Indians Friday night in a non-district game.

Several Meade Buffaloes scored on the ground, including Trevin Wiens and Jett Little, who each scored two rushing touchdowns. Chris Hardaway and Chayse Ross each scored a rushing touchdown, Hardaway also passed for two more.

Jantz Budde scored both of Wichita County's touchdowns, one on a fumble recovery in the first quarter and the other on a late fourth quarter run.

Meade goes to 6-1 overall while Wichita County falls to 1-6.

Stanton County 40, Elkhart 14

At Johnson, the Stanton County Trojans got off to a sluggish start early before coming, this time against the Elkhart Wildcats 40-14 on Friday.

Stanton County had its ground game going as Bret Gum led the team with three rushing touchdowns while Quinn Kendrick had one. Kendrick also passed for a score and also caught a touchdown from Angel Molina.

Marques Logan had 17 carries for 157 yards for the Trojans.

Elkhart's Nick Lewis and Alex Gomez each had a rushing touchdown for the visiting Wildcats. Gomez also passed 32 times for 163 yards.

Stanton County improves to 2-1 in district play and 6-1 overall while Elkhart falls to 1-2 in district play and 4-3 overall.

At Syracuse, Sublette came away with a 62-31 win over the Syracuse Bulldogs Friday night.

Brendan Giesick had a field night for Sublette as he passed for three touchdowns and rushed for another. Eric Miller rushed for two touchdowns and had another from an interception return. Carlos Chavarria and Avigael Gonzalez also rushed for a touchdown each to cap off the scoring in the Lark's win.
