Class 6A regional tournament pairings for several Garden City High School athletic teams were announced on Saturday for the coming week.

On Tuesday, the Buffaloes' boys baseball team (5-15) will play Wichita East (13-6) at the Wichita Westurban complex at 2 p.m. in a semifinal contest. A win by the Buffs would put them into the championship game, also on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The Buffs were the No. 10 seed while East has the No. 3 seed in the South Central Region.

Also on Tuesday, the Lady Buffs soccer team (9-6-1) will play host at 5 p.m. to Wichita North (6-10-0) in the South Central regional after receiving the No. 4 seed. A win would move them into the regional final on Thursday at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Wichita Heights-Dodge City game, also to be played on Tuesday. That regional final would be played on Thursday in Wichita.

On Wednesday, the GCHS Lady Buffs softball team (16-3) will host a South Central regional and are set to play Western Athletic Conference rival Dodge City (5-15) at 3:45 p.m. at the Tangeman Sports Complex. In a 2 p.m. semifinal contest, it will be Derby (11-5) vs. Wichita Southeast (7-13). The two winners will face-off at 5:30 p.m. in the championship game with the winner advancing to the state tournament in Overland Park on May 23 and 24.

Concluding the week's action will be the GCHS track and field teams, when they head to Dodge City for the regional meet. Top four finishers in each of the field and running events will automatically qualify for the state track meet on May 24 and 25.

The Buffs' boys golf team was competing today in the 6A regional tournament at Reflection Ridge Golf Club in Wichita.
