The Garden City Community College cross country teams competed at the Rocky Mountain Shootout meet on Saturday, hosted by the University of Colorado, in Boulder, Colo.
The men's team finished seventh out of 10 teams in the non-Division I competition. Chris Zirkle led the Broncbusters with a time of 28:03 on the 8-kilometer course to finish 22nd. He was followed closely by Nick Baca at 28:19, while the rest of the Busters packed in closely, with Alfredo Lebron (29:07), Dillon Eckel (29:12), Josh Hatch (29:35), Manny Ultreras (29:39) and Ulises Lopez (30:31) rounding out the GCCC times.
The Buster women finished ninth out of 11 teams in the non-DI competition, led by Kelsea Geschwentner at 25:02. She was followed by Jaden Bolmer (27:28), Kelsey Coley (27:56), Kalea Barlow (28:16), Mimi Medina (28:34), Karla Perez (36:06) and Norma Rodriguez (36:09).
The Busters next compete on Saturday at the Fort Hays State Tiger Invitational.
