Stanton County, Satanta girls pick up wins

Stanton County 47, Springfield, Colo. 40

At Johnson, the Lady Trojans used a 22-13 second-half advantage to overcome a pesky Springfield, Colo., squad 47-40 on Tuesday.

Rakel Moore led Stanton County with 16 points as Jenna Black followed up with 14 points and Lindsey Erskin with 10. Stanton County trailed by two points at halftime.

Adrienne Mondragon and Taylor Konkel led Springfield with 15 and 14 points, respectively.

At Lakin, the visiting Lady Indians jumped ahead early with a 19-8 first quarter and managed to hold off Lakin from there for a 56-43 win over the Lady Broncs on Tuesday.

Vanessa Caro led a balanced Satanta squad with 14 points. Three other Satanta players also had double figures with Jennifer Rehmke scoring 12 points followed by Kacey Smith and Valerie Caro, with 10 each

Mariah Watkins led Lakin with 10 points.

At Hugoton, the Lady Eagles outscored Scott City 56-27 in the first three periods to cruise to a 62-36 win over the Lady Beavers on Tuesday in GWAC play.

Nicole Kinser led Hugoton with 16 points. Ana Pena also scored in double figures for Hugoton with 14 points with Chastity Parsons and Riley Sosa each adding 12.

Shanaya Hoeme led Scott City with 14 points, followed by Bailey Nickel with 11.

At Elkhart, despite being outscored 24-14 in the fourth quarter, the Lady Wildcats held on to get a win over their Morton County foe Rolla 44-36 on Tuesday.

Kenzie Thomason led a balanced Elkhart offense with 11 points as the Lady Wildcats jumped out to a 30-12 lead after the third quarter.

Kaleigh Barrett led Rolla with 18 points as their fourth quarter rally was not enough to come back against Elkhart.

At Leoti, the Lady Indians scored double digits in each quarter and enabled Wichita County to pull away to a 58-32 victory over Syracuse on Tuesday.

Tailar Bremer led Wichita County with 21 points with Nicole Huber chipping in 12 as Wichita County also led 29-12 at the half and 48-20 after the third quarter.

Sydney Brown led Syracuse with 12 points.
