Garden City Community College’s men’s basketball team salvaged a two-game road trip through Nebraska with a 75-61 win over McCook, Neb., on Saturday.

The win came after the Broncbusters dropped their first game of the season the night before at North Platte, 73-68.

The Busters got 22 points from Russhard Cruickshank, who hit 4-of-7 3-pointers and added six rebounds and four assists. Jakobi Pearson added 15 points, while Jamir Thomas had nine points, seven rebounds and four assists.

The Busters led 37-30 at half, and then slowly pulled away with a 38-31 second-half advantage.

McCook fell to 3-4, as the Indians were held to 32.1 percent from the field. Peanut Cunningham led with 14 points.

The Busters’ next action comes in the Broncbuster Classic on Friday, when they host Odessa College at 6 p.m.
