On the strength of Saturday’s 24-21 win over Hutchinson, Garden City Community College picked up three first-place votes in Tuesday’s NJCAA football poll.

The Broncbusters (9-0) remain in No. 2 behind East Mississippi (10-0), which retained the 14 other first-place votes.

Those two programs are the only two undefeated sides in the NJCAA, outside of No. 6 Lackawanna (Penn.). Iowa Western (8-1) is No. 3, Jones, Miss. (9-1) is No. 4 and Snow, Utah (8-1) is No. 5.

Hutchinson (8-2) dropped from No. 4 last week to No. 8 after the loss to the Busters. Butler (7-3) and Highland (6-3) also represent the KJCCC in the poll at 14th and 15th respectively. Garden City hosts the Grizzlies at 1 p.m. Saturday in the regular season finale.

If the Busters win, they would be in line to receive a bid to the NJCAA National Championship, set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 in Pittsburg.
