Garden City High School’s two singles players and one doubles players each went 0-2 in the Class 6A state tournament in Olathe on Friday and Saturday.

After playing just one match due to weather on Friday, the four players had to finish the first round of consolation matches Saturday morning, going 0-3.

Senior singles player Taryn Tabor lost to Olathe East’s Michaela Magee, 9-1, to end her season with a 24-13 record.

The Buffs’ only other senior, Eresay Alcantar-Velasquez, lost to Blue Valley’s Katherine Price, 9-0, ending her season at 14-12.

The doubles partners of freshman Sage Riggs and junior Carson Linenberger lost to Haysville Campus’ Venus Thanasouk and Aspen Ames, 9-3, ending their seasons at 25-11.

Blue Valley North swept both the doubles and singles titles, as Chloe Kuckelman won the singles title, besting her sister, Ellie Kuckelman in the final. Then, Callie Flanagan and Christine O’Brien won the doubles title.
