The Scott City Beavers continued to roll this season, dispatching the Goodland Cowboys 61-0 Friday night in Scott City.

The win marked the Beavers’ third consecutive shutout of the season, as they have throttled their opponents by a combined score of 120-0.

The Beavers (3-0) started the scoring early and often, scoring 28 points in the first quarter and 27 in the second. The first score of the night came at the 11:09 mark of the first quarter when senior Wyatt Hayes scored on a 9-yard touchdown run.

His opening score of the game was the first of his three rushing touchdowns. The senior ended up with 75 yards on six carries.

Scott City’s defense scored some points of its own, as sophomore Gabe Bowers returned an interception 36 yards to the house to close out the first half.

Goodland fell to 0-3.

Ulysses held the visiting Hugoton Eagles to just 101 offensive yards in a 29-6 win Friday night.

The Tigers (2-1) had only 246 offensive yards, but got a safety, a punt return for a touchdown and a fumble recovery touchdown to overcome six turnovers. The Ulysses defense also got six takeaways.

Hugoton fell to 0-3.

The Moscow Wildcats won their first 6-man football game of the season Friday night as the Wildcats (1-2) downed Weskan, 58-32, in Moscow.

The Wildcats led 28-6 lead at the half, then pulled away with a 20-point fourth quarter.

Axel Granillo led the way with three touchdowns, two on runs of 1 and 80 yards — and the third on a 45-yard interception return.
