Ulysses and Colby each had two players named to the 2017 Great West Activities Conference all-league team announced this week, while Holcomb, Scott City and Hugoton each had one first-team selection.

Junior Riley Oglevie and senior Jazstyn Moyer were the two Tigers named to the seven-player first team. The Longhorns’ lone first-teamer was senior Eboni Sapien while senior Emily Smith was tabbed from Scott City. Hugoton’s single choice was Jayden Korf. Colby’s duo of Erin Krannawitter and Kora Schindler rounded out the team.

Second team selections from the area schools included Allison Meng and Madison Ruda of Holcomb, Jalynn Habiger of Scott City and Luz Gomez and Kali Kenny of Ulysses.

Kamryn Gomez and Taylor Sleep of Holcomb were honorable mention selections for the Longhorns, who qualified for the Class 4A-II state tournament for the third time in four years, but didn’t advance out of pool play.

Hugoton’s Dallie Hoskinson and JoHanna Rawlins, Aspyn Nix of Scott City and Brittany Raines of Ulysses also were named to the honorable mention squad.
