Daz Johnson was the only Garden City Broncbuster to reach double-digit scoring for the women’s team on Tuesday night at South Plains (Texas) in a 60-35 loss.

Johnson had 11 points, Talia Roberts had six points, Kala Jones had five and Abigail Green chipped in four.

But nobody else had more than two, as the Busters went 0 for 15 from beyond the three-point line.

It drops the Busters to 1-2, with conference play looming on Saturday at Butler. That opener is set for 5:30 p.m. in El Dorado.

South Plains, 16th-ranked in the preseason NJCAA poll, improved to 2-1. The Texans were led by MiKayla Kuehne’s 17 points, and La’Praishah Johnson added 16. As a team, they shot 44 percent from the field.
