Garden City Community College’s volleyball team continued its early season skid Monday evening at Butler, falling in straight sets, 25-21, 25-23, 28-26.

The loss is the Busters’ fifth consecutive, as the fall to 2-9 overall and 0-3 in the KJCCC.

“We need to learn to finish a game, and not start out from behind,” GCCC head coach Jacque Matula said. “If we can figure that out, it will be a different season.”

Shaney Tiumalu had seven kills, 13 digs and an ace, while Abigail Steeler had eight kills. Bailey Martinez had 22 digs.

Aliyaj Bernard had 13 kills to lead Butler, which improved to 7-4 and 2-1.

The Busters continue to hit the road with a 7 p.m. game at Laramie, Wyo., Thursday and then they head to the Wyobraska Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Torrington, Wyo., where they will compete in three matches.
