Commerce Bank Chuckwagon Breakfast

It's in Stevens Park on Main Street in downtown Garden City, and it's all you can eat for $2 a head. Commerce Bank staffers start serving beef sausage and pancakes just after dawn, somewhere around 6:30 a.m. Chris Cakes of Louisburg flips batter and banter as he produces flapjacks. It's over at 9:30 a.m. Milk, courtesy of Plymell Dairy, is free. The coffee is next to the milk. Proceeds go to CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).

Chuckwagons in the Park Community Feed

After the parade, head to the chuck wagons circled up at Stevens Park, where the range cooks start serving samples of new cuts of beef at about 11:45 a.m. There is no charge, but trying enough samples might equal a free meal. The sponsors are First National Bank of Syracuse, Garden City and Johnson City; Beef Products Inc.; Clarion Inn/Samy's Spirits and Steakhouse; and Max Jantz Excavating.

The night ends with music and dessert at Samy's.
