Spearville trumps Satanta, Rolla wins close game on final play

At Satanta, the visiting Royal Lancers scored often as Spearville overwhelmed the Indians 64-14 on Friday in a game that was called at halftime.

Satanta's Kyle Abernathy completed 5 of 11 passes for 109 yards with an interception and a touchdown to Jesus Garcia.

Garcia received five passes for 109 yards in the game with the touchdown and also rushed for 65 yards and a rushing touchdown in an otherwise tough outing for the Indians. Satanta drops to 2-5 this season.

Moscow 42,

Ashland 6

At Moscow, the Wildcats allowed visiting Ashland breathing room before breaking loose with a 20-point fourth quarter to put the Bluejays away for a 42-6 victory Friday.

Brock Brazeal did most of the scoring for Moscow, as he threw two touchdowns and caught two others.

Alexis Manriquez and Lane Miller each had a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter for Moscow to cap off a big finish.

Ashland's lone score came in the third quarter, as Kole Konrade rushed for a 5-yard touchdown.

Moscow is now 2-1 in district play and 5-2 overall.

South Gray 66, Deerfield 20

At Deerfield, the visiting Rebels were too much for the Spartans, as South Gray was hot on offense to deliver a 66-20 steamrolling of Deerfield in a game that was called in the third quarter.

South Gray scored six of its eight touchdowns on the ground, as the Rebels rushed for 401 yards and had 445 yards of total offense. Carson Skidmore led with three rushing touchdowns, while Colton Dirks had two and Henry Friesen had one. Skidmore had two passing touchdowns for the Rebels also.

Deerfield's Rene Rubio scored all three of the Spartan's touchdowns.

South Gray moves to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in district play, while Deerfield drops to 1-6 overall on the season.

At Rolla, the Pirates' game against Ingalls came down to the last play and last second, as Rolla spiked the ball after a 17-yard pass with one second left in the game, to allow Kyler Telford to throw a 34-yard pass to Jake Smith as time expired to give Rolla a 40-36 win on a Hail Mary pass over Ingalls on Friday.

Before the last play, the teams tangled closely as Telford had a role in all of Rolla's scores including one receiving, two rushing, and three passing touchdowns to lead the Pirates.

Ingalls' Jordan and Josh Irsik each rushed for two touchdowns in the game, while Branson Sandoval had the other score in the fourth quarter before Rolla came back to break the Bulldogs' heart.

The last second allows Rolla to jump to 5-2 overall and more importantly 2-1 in district play with two games left in the season. Ingalls is now 1-2 in district play and 3-4 on the season.

Rolla will travel to Bucklin next week, while Ingalls travels to Ashland.
