Hugoton boys, girls come up short in Blue and Red title games

Boys
Hooker, Okla. 46, Hugoton 20
Despite holding Hooker's Payson Slater to 11 points, the Hugoton boys were not able to make much offense of their own in their 46-20 loss to Hooker, Okla., in their Blue and Red Classic boys championship game Saturday night.
James Persinger was Hugoton's scoring leader with six points.

Ulysses 68, Guymon, Okla. 52
In the third-place game, Garrett Kissell and Kyle Zerr had 20 and 18 points, respectively, to lead Ulysses in a 68-52 win over Guymon.
Chase Newell also had 15 points for the Tigers.
Braxton Dain had 15 points to lead Guymon while Alfredo Garcia added 13 points. Ulysses led by one point at halftime.

In the fifth-place game, Clayton Chase's 26 points helped the Southwestern Heights Mustangs send the game into extra periods and just slip by Perryton, Texas, in double overtime 66-64.
Despite 21 points from Blake Turner and 19 from Michael Hesler, Perryton was unable to hold on to its five-point lead after the third quarter.

Rebi Jacobs and Sheree Ryan each had 14 points to lead Southwestern Heights to the Blue and Red Classic championship, 45-37, over host Hugoton on Saturday night.
Nicole Kinser had 15 points and BayLee Hoskinson added 10 points to lead the Eagles.
